Taliban 45 Days Captive Tells of Harrowing Tale

Jere Van Dyke was released from Taliban captivity after 45 days.

This CBS News correspondent was expecting death anytime during this harrowing experience but was resolute in keeping his calm and his faith.

His steadfastness in his religious belief, his truthfulness coupled with great humility has helped him overcome the ordeal and eventually his release.

All Christians can learn from his example as this blogger shares with you David's prayer in Psalm 23:4, "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me."

Clinging to God  through Jesus Christ in times of trouble, fear and uncertainty makes us stronger in being one with our Creator, the Almighty One who is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End who leads us to everlasting life and eternal bliss.

Letterman Forces Regis to Eat Seafood

Eating seafood is loved by many but we wonder why Regis Philbin refuses to eat even exotic delicacies prepared out of them.

See more on our link below how David Letterman tries to handle this hilarious challenge.

But Regis should not at all be alarmed with seafood or any food for that matter that is meant to nourish us anyway, especially if the invitation comes from a popular TV host like Letterman on global exposure.

He, or anyone else, should be more wary about what comes out of his mouth than what comes in it.

As stated in the gospel of Matthew 15:10, after calling the crowd Jesus said, "Listen and understand.  What goes into a man's mouth does not make him 'unclean,' but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him 'unclean.'"

We hope and pray that what comes out of our mouth would be words of hope, love, peace and forgiveness, not words that hurt the spirit for which many people come to folly and may cause more trouble and misunderstanding.

Retail Store Associate Sings to the Delight of Many Shoppers

This Kroger associate, Edwin, finds it uplifting serenading customers in the North Richland Hills store in Texas.  Getting a fresh start from the store's customer service cheer, he added a few lines from the Kroger culture in caring for customers to complete the lyrics of the song.

He gets mostly positive feedbacks from shoppers bringing customer service at a different level, and this encourages him more to sing the song upon a customer's request, and each time, it has to be with management's go-signal or approval, of course.

Some shoppers and associates say they have fun too listening to the song with associates getting pumped up and reminded to put "customers first" in their line of duty while other shoppers snap their fingers, dance along, welcome it with a smile or rings the bell at the store for "great customer service".

Other shoppers admit, they sometimes get carried away with the song on top of the great customer service they get while around the outlet, and they get to add more stuff to buy than what was on their list.

Even a few more excitedly added (quite flattering but sounds more an exaggeration) they would "not mind being serenaded every 10 minutes" as they have fun shopping listening to the song.  Shall we join the cheer now, "Yeeaahaa Go Kroger!"
