Foot Pinning Trick by Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Manny Pacquiao - "Foul?"

Reading on our video link from Granville Ampong of examiner.com, you will see people dismayed, irked and in disbelief by the foot stopping trick utilized by Juan Manuel Marquez against the unassuming Manny Pacquiao.

[Read and view interesting video post:  "Foot Stopper Trick by Juan Manuel Marquez" - from examiner.com]

Here's what I commented:

"Not so many people noticed this foot pinning strategy of Marquez which is "foul," as it is unfair and unsportsmanlike. Not even Roach, Manny or Buboy and Alex noticed this. No wonder, JMM caused Manny off his tempo and balance, plus cramps that bothered him in the fight. JMM thought that this was UFC not boxing, where only hands and fists are to be used but not feet to intentionally step on to handicap the opponent. Is there no malice here?"

The referee did not notice this as he was too engrossed focusing his eyes on the upper torso of both fighters, just like anybody else.

Nobody thought of this cheat, not even honest Mexicans will tolerate this unsportsmanlike behavior, just to win a fight with boxing's best Pound for Pound Boxer.

No wonder JMM successfully avoided a lethal blow that could have ended the fight early on.

If this is tolerated in boxing, we may as well call it "foot trapping and boxing," a new kind of sport that could very well be more popular that Thai kick boxing.

Despite this dirty trick, nevertheless, Manny Pacquiao delivered the more telling blows to Juan Manuel Marquez as  seen through the latter's puffy face.

Clearly, Manny has stronger punches than Juan Manuel Marquez, but, poor JMM, why did he have to apply this trick just to increase his chances against the more powerful "Pacman," not realizing how he would have to pay dearly in terms of ridicule, dishonor and this may spell a clear blemish to his name and to his team.

He may have checked the onslaught of the "Pacman" with his effective counter punches, but now that Manny realizes how he can better deal with his weaker punches, he and Roach may see it more appropriate to study on more effective fleeting combinations to counter all his low bobbing moves, flash uppercuts and his counter punches, which Manny may soon learn to master and neutralize.

JMM's foot tricks may have escaped the eagle eyes of the referee, but next time around, more eyes will be watching for similar uncanny tricks which deserve points deduction from the judges.

And to see Juan Manuel Marquez even bragging of his win against Pacquiao in all of their three fights, especially in this third fight, is he worth his boast and his pride?

As the saying goes, "You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the poeple all of the time."

And many times, one's foolishness may bring one's downfall.

In Proverbs 14:16, “A wise man fears the Lord and shuns evil, but a fool is hotheaded and reckless.”

Also in Proverbs 14:17, “A quick tempered man does foolish things, and a crafty man is hated.”

Who is a Better Fighter - Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather?

This post serves as a commentary on Ben Thompson's FightHype.com interview -  "Manny Pacquiao - It's Going to be a Big Difference compared to the last Two Fights"

Whether you like it or not, more people may well be watching this coming 3rd fight between two of boxing's great names and  nemesis, Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez on November 12,  2011.

Who knows, this may probably be their last concluding fight against each other and many boxing fans may be wanting to see this to compare how Floyd Mayweather, Jr. may find himself fighting Manny Pacquiao on the ring, the same way many have tried comparing their fights with common opponents such as Oscar de la Hoya, Ricky Hatton and Shane Mosley.

Who fared better against these great boxers has become obvious, but you may well see how Manny and Floyd approach life as you try to see and make an analysis of their reactions before and after each of these fights.

While one prefers to be low-keyed and more humble, the other seems to be more comfortable being more vocal and aggressive.  And who gets into trouble most of the times?

And as I have noticed, Manny Pacquiao now fights at an entirely different level compared to his previous fights with Marquez, when he was still struggling timing his punches and movements as against the more scientifically adept and analytically skilled Juan Manuel Marquez.  The wily Marquez carefully studies his opponent's strengths and weaknesses and uses effective counter punches usually hitting their marks, and this same feat and style by the way, he shares with Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

If you too agree, nevertheless, Manny Pacquiao has improved much since he started using his well studied and well earned scientific skills of fighting under the meticulous eye and style of boxing's hall of famer, Freddie Roach.

And these skills were first used in November 2006 when Manny Pacquiao fought Erik Morales for the third time.  That was when Morales only lasted for three rounds unlike their previous fights, the first going through the whole distance of 12 rounds with Manny losing that fight, and the second one going through 10 rounds with Morales losing by a technical knockout and the referee had to stop the fight.

From then, Manny garnered more confidence inside the ring.  He faced his opponents more unafraid with relentless and more accurate attacks, with more fluid and well synchronized movements quickly pivoting left or right to better confuse his adversaries, used stunning punches from both hands, and carefully timed combinations which usually found their marks more than before.

Floyd Mayweather may have seen this marked improvement on Pacquiao and this may have influenced his seemingly reluctant stance.  And he seems content where he is now as he may appear happier preserving his unblemished win loss record which for him, perhaps, may have been earning him more money despite earning some ridicule on the sides from his critics and from those wanting to challenge him to go get his acts done and face Manny.

Pacquiao may not want to compare his fights with well known boxers whom Mayweather defeated, but one may not help but compare the difference over how they fared well against Floyd Mayweather as against Manny Pacquiao.

Simple deductions may become conclusive for many, but still, "there is nothing compared to the real fight happening between the two."

And Mayweather, in one way or the other, is able to swing many of his fans believing and routing for him despite the perceived weakness in his stance.

And as one may conjecture, "but is he really worth his name and his pride?"

Manny's humility, on the other hand, is so profound in above interview with Fight Hype's Ben Thompson, telling everybody that he does not want to compare his fights and that he enjoys seeing people entertained and happy as he does his fights, and praying that nobody gets hurt.

In boxing, no doubt, people get hurt, and Manny has shown a lot of self-control and discipline in his previous fights as he has tried pulling his punches as he deemed it necessary, and he made a few signs to the referee whenever he felt the other boxer  may just be unwisely exposing himself to greater danger, and the referee or the boxer's team needed to stop the fight.

Manny's compassion in these instances have been seen to be as big as his heart.  No wonder he has earned the respect of many people around the world with his different approach to life and to people around him.

He may be bigger in name and fame, but his humility, compassion and concern for others is what makes him greater, as this is what makes a man true to himself and to his Creator, as he learns to accept his weakness, and strives improve himself and inspires others to do the same.

Many times, it has been proven how foolish pride can kill, not only in boxing, but in everyday life.

It is only when we are able to attune ourselves to God's words of love, forgiveness, humility and compassion that we become a better person in this life.

Manny Pacquiao rightly puts it when he said, there is 'nothing personal' on this fight, despite an openly defiant Juan Manuel Marquez claiming on his t-shirt during their fight campaign trail in Manila that he won their last two fights.

The official score card for the two is one draw and one win in Pacquiao's favor, with Marquez quickly recovering using with great counter punches from three knockdowns in the first round of their first bout granting him the referee's favor for a draw.  This same referee later admitted he messed up with the draw decision, the three knockdowns should have at least given Pacquiao this upperhand on points.  Thus came the rematch.  And now, soon to happen, the third exciting match long awaited by both parties' fans.

All boxing fans, trainers, promoters and boxers eager to see how well these two fighters say they are worth their claim may as well watch this fight, and see how they may fare with boxing's P4P King.

And for me, Manny made a remarkable view of a sportsman, one who is there to entertain people while loving what he does best, not to hate, begrudge or create a division.

Win or lose in any match, the humble Manny Pacquiao professing the greatness and power of our Almighty God and Father in the love of others, for me, is already a winner.

In Matthew 23:11-12, Jesus Christ said to the crowd with his disciples, "The greatest among you will be your servant. For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted."

Steve Jobs, Apple CEO, Resigning - What We can Learn from His Predicament

"Jobs at Apple - Master Inventor, Master Marketer" from Yahoo News

Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO resigning?  Perhaps, due to ill health having had a previous liver transplant and other illnesses attributed to him?

Well, for whatever reason,  'you can't buy good health with all the money, intelligence or wisdom you've got, can you' as some may say.

But he sure was a genius having led apple and the industry into new products and innovations, plus a great marketing thrust that even placed Apples ahead of top performing Exxon in the global business industry market.

[Read on another on Yahoo News post:  "6 Surprising Facts About Steve Jobs and Apple".]

Perhaps, it's God's way of making us realize, through Steve Job's example, that with all of one's material wealth and power, nobody can overpower or outshine God, as He humbles us when we are weak.

In 1 Corinthians 1:18-19, (full message on these powerful verses are on this link 1 Corinthians:17-31) Saint Paul states, “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.  For it is written:

“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.’

Anytime we will all die, and it is before this state that we open up to our senses and to the truth that no material things can outlive the words of God.

It's time to know him more, dude, and open yourself to Him, through Christ, and you will see what true peace and happiness means in this life.

After all our hard work, can we bring anything with us when we die?

[Know more about God on this post:  "God's Awesome Works on God's Awesome Creation, and the Messiah in Jesus."]

I did, I lost my life two times, as I had a mild heart attack in 2002 in the Philippines and had angioplasty with one blocked vein, and later had a mild stroke in 2010 in Los Angeles, California.

Jesus Christ saved me, and learned to know him more and the truth in his words as I have been reading the bible while doing my blog to help spread his light.

Watch original version of 'New York New York" on You Tube Video Editor

It's showtime ... and sing-along time with Pinoy Blogger (PB) and see cute little Madden, the shaven Lhasa Apso fun dog as he interestingly watches and moves around.

Is she the only reluctant fan for PB in this song, lol?

Watch this YouTube video made on Video Editor as Pinoy Blogger belts out the song, "New York New York" ala Frank Sinatra, or is it Tony Bennett?

PB himself is confused, lol.  But, oh yeah, it's Pinoy Blogger's original version and style.

Take it away PB. He'll love it you singing with him.

Singing is fun and it heals as it expresses yourself, and sometimes, even your spirit, especially in praise and worship songs or songs that come from the heart.

'New York New York' is one of PB's favorite songs as it reminds him of liberty and freedom where many people migrating from different parts of the world started their life in the 'land of one milk and honey,' which is America, of Broadway and other great first class entertainment, of different great tasting food served in restaurants of varied international cuisine coming from a diversity of human culture and race, and, of course, who could ever forget one of Hollywood's and Broadway's favorite singers, the voice and the legend, Hall of Famer, 'ole blue eyes, the late Frank Sinatra, who made this song very popular, or was it the other way around, whatever?

Let's have fun singing to our heart's delight, be it in a Karaoke Bar, at home with friend and family with or without a microphone, or while merely taking a shower, it can energize as it makes you happy and feel good about life.

Thank God for the gift of singing and fun in music.  And thank God for all the good things in life.

Watch Fun VIdeo - Bukas Loob sa Diyos (BLD) Los Angeles District Picnic and Raffle Fun 2011 July

Another successful picnic and raffle fun fellowship event was held by Bukas Loob sa Diyos or BLD ("Opening one's heart in God") Covenant Community Los Angeles District at Ralphs B. Clark Regional Park, Buena Park, California on July 24, 2011.

Watch this shared fun video that says it all as we continue to keep Jesus in our hearts in everything good that we do, and this time, celebrating God's gift of life with our brothers and sisters in Christ under BLD, and "Jesus Saw Inside of Me" from YouTube video editor as our fitting background music.

'Bukas Loob sa Diyos' or BLD Los Angeles 2011 Picnic and Raffle July 24

Everybody enjoyed the atmosphere of fun and camaraderie among members of the community with  various Filipino delicacies and great recipes served to the delight of those who made sure they did not miss this year's picnic, climaxed with an exciting raffle event.

All those with tickets on hand were keen on winning the major prizes either for themselves or for their family and acquaintances they represented.  I, for one, would be more than happy to see any of my donors and ticket buyers win any of the cool prizes at stake to enhance my ticket selling credibility one notch higher, won't you agree?

Ticket entries were handed to Bob Perkovic, Carlito and Evelyn Alvarado who gladly served all paid tickets, put them into the 'tambiolo' before it all started rolling by 5PM.  The grand prize winner was not present, but the seller, Lita Briones, was there to acknowledge and confirm the identity of the winner.

Good for me and John Abe, despite the heat from the sun and from the flaming charcoal, we got the most number of  'likes' grilling great tasting barbeques superbly marinated by Danny Jose.

It was the most sought after food since we began grilling, sometimes, not able to keep up with demand and yes, bias or not, lol, better than the Fil-Am favorite chicken adobo of Evelyn Alvarado and the savory beef steak of Ted and Prescy Najarro, just right after I took over from Bong Uy who had to complete a quorum as he was duty by his BLD tennis buddies.

This gives me an idea, huh.  Danny, Bong, John and I can, perhaps, put up a barbeque business on the sides at downtown LA and with our BLD community ever growing, marketing will not be a problem, lol.  Let's wait and see what Jun and Alice , Boy and Madsy , Hermie and Lina , Ed and Bopeep have to say.

I may have gone too far pulling your legs, but what is good about this community is the selflessness and the willingness of many of its members to share the love of Christ with others, that together with our families and friends, we may all see the light of Christ in this life, while celebrating together and enjoying God's countless blessings as we learn to accept God in Christ Jesus, to lead our life in this journey towards eternity, as we may eventually learn to live and discover the beauty of finding the true path while we may choose to grow together in the spirit.

Soon after that grueling yet humbling and heart warming hands-on training grilling BBQ's as a novice from master John Abe, I started looking for that delicious, nutritious and anti-carcinogenic mouth watering mangoes brought by Lucy Castro and her Mekeni group, but, no way, they were all 'gone with the wind,' lol.  "Parang hinipan ng hangin" ("as though blown by the wind"].

Whatever tastes good never last with the Pinoy taste buds.  That is why in any BLD event, watch your tummy or your waistline before it grows out of healthy proportion.

Field games were played among the youth, singles, single parents, ME couples and family members who were all there to have fun, and fun they did have, with soothing and energy giving praise and worship songs from the choice collections of Tony and Tess Roque filling the air.

Ralph B. Clark Regional Park has a huge area of trees and green grassy lawns were kids and people of all ages can enjoy a refreshing jog, walk or play, or even go camping on tents or hiking along nearby hills.

Some of the boys happily swung their tennis rackets which they brought along knowing that once you have paid at the entrance gate for a meager  fee of only five dollars a car, you can play the whole day and use the park's facilities for free.

"All is well that ends well."

The BLD picnic and raffle activities on July 24, 2011 may just be another fruitful day among community members, family and friends, that came to pass, but the best part was the love that was shared in Christ Jesus praying that his words of truth will always stay in our BLD hearts as they lighten up our daily journey in this life, and as we continue to yearn for spiritual growth in Christ and be one with God.

In 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17, Saint Paul, after he admonished everyone to live in peace with each other, to encourage the timid to help the weak, to be patient with everyone, nobody to pay wrong for wrong and to always be kind to each other and to everyone else, he said, “Be joyful always, pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

Commentary on - "Down But Not Out - Voices of the Long Term Unemployed" from Yahoo News and Being in Sync with God

Reading on our link below from Yahoo News can be an eye opener as we face reality, that "life is not always what we expect it to be."

[Read this link as our commentary subject:  "Down But Not Out:  "'Voices of the Long Term Unemployed' from Yahoo News"]

Let us get some inspiration, nevertheless, from one of my favorite world leaders in the famed fiery British Prime Minister in two World Wars of I and II, Sir Winston Churchill (read more on Wikipedia.com).

While challenging and reviving the morale of the British people and its military forces in his speech aptly titled "Blood, Toil, Tears and Sweat" (read more from WinstonChurchill.org) he said :

"It is to wage war, by sea, land and air, with all our might and with all the strength that God can give us; to wage war against a monstrous tyranny, never surpassed in the dark, lamentable catalogue of human crime. That is our policy. You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word: It is victory, victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory, however long and hard the road may be; for without victory, there is no survival."

We can always turn to our human spirit, ever relentless and persevering, and never to give up to the overwhelming pressures brought about by the changing fortunes of time and faced with the challenges in finding a worth while and one honest way of facing the challenges that life brings to fore.

No doubt, unemployment has become rampant especially in the US pegged at 10 to 15% or more with true figure varying depending on the source.  The number one economy in the world also has a lurking problem of unpaid foreign debt to the tune of 14 trillion dollars.

Looking for that elusive source of income has never been so challenging be it a job, your own business or a non-profit entity, foundation, cooperative endeavor, or it can be investments of your time, effort, services or finances in stocks in a business partnership or corporation, in royalties, in writing or publishing books, or even in well loved and trusted products you can think of, all these as probable options for anyone looking for what could be the best possible income derivative.

Being in Sync with God

Your belief and trust in the Lord will fill your way through.  The more you appreciate the truth in trusting God, the more you can better prepare yourself in the challenges of this material world.

If you do not believe in God, I am humbled as I respectfully  invite you to our link below and appreciate your taking a trickle of your time to this revelation while opening your heart and spirit ...

[Read on our post:  "God's Awesome Works in God's Awesome Creation and the Messiah in Jesus - Commentary on High Speed Captures - a gallery on flicker"]

Wondering how seeking discernment on issues involving material things may require guidance from the Divine Providence? Don't even have a second guess.

I believe that everything happens for a reason and your coming over reading this post is no accident at all whether somebody referred you to this site or by leap of fate you have come across this article, as this opens a new door for you to realize how God has been calling you for that rare opportunity to know Him better through the truth in His words and in His Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

In Psalm 95:8-11, it states, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah (means quarreling), as you did that day at Massah (means testing) in the desert, where your fathers tested and tried me, though they had seen what I did. For forty years I was angry with that generation. I said, “They are a people whose hearts go astray, and they have not known my ways.” So I declared an oath in my anger, “They shall never enter my rest.”

Every time, just open your heart to him, expect him to reveal more truth about himself in this life through your faith.

While you may be in a quandary what path to take, just pray and trust in Christ as the Holy Spirit guides you to the right choice based on your beliefs as a true Christian.

Looking for work has really been difficult for many, but this should not pose any problem, why?  Reflect on this passage from the bible and see how true.

In Matthew 6:25-27, Jesus said to His apostles, "Do not worry about your life, what you eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air, they do not sow or reap of store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not more important than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

Wow!  And if you ask people who lived close to a 100 years or so, did they have anything in common?  Did not a positive outlook in life help them live a longer life, aside from filling their life with love of others and for others?

While God wants us to work the best we can to provide for our family, he wants us to keep our love for Him by showing our love and concern for others as well.

Have you noticed how the lack of consideration for others have alienated us from the love of others which could have made our life richer in spirit, more peaceful, joyful, happier and more fulfilled?

As compared with working in harmony with others, does this not make our work easier to handle, makes us a good team player which eventually and leads us to greater productivity?

And looking beyond work comes the blessing of being with the family where that elusive chance of being with our love ones comes right into place.

For Whatever is Lost, Some Good Thing is Gained

I remember when I had angioplasty (a non-invasive procedure where a tiny stainless steel stent was placed in a blocked vein lining the upper right ventricle of my heart to keep the blood in normal flow) a few months after I had a mild heart attack, I had a long unexpected vacation on sick leave, lol.

I may have had a heart problem, but the best part of it, for me, was being with my love ones like I have never been before and this kept me in a better bonding shape with all members of my family.

The company I was working with granted me quite a long rest as per my doctor's advice.  And it was indeed a fitting and a much needed therapy.  "Truly," I said, "God is good all the time."

What if I preferred to look at things the other way, became more fearful of death, more grumpy and demanding for my care and more unforgiving and blamed everybody every single step of the way for a perceived mistake they make?  Will this help and make things any better or worse?

The second time I had a life threatening close call was when I had a mild stroke after we transferred apartment into Los Angeles.  And that was just last September of last year where I got hospitalized for a week.

As usual, I got pampered by my family, lol.  But this did not go over my head and the longer I stayed in the hospital, the more I yearned to go home as I said to myself I was feeling okay and ready to go home as early as the fourth day in the hospital.

I was praying to God what purpose He was intending me for this time now that I had my second lease on my life, until I came to realize three weeks after I got out of the hospital, God has revealed in me the truth in using natural complements.

I stopped using Coumadine after three weeks of continuous use as a blood thinner as I found it out to be a rat poison as I browsed through the web.

Since I did not want to use anything that was identified as a rat poison, I went back to using red wine and regularly used Nitric Oxide to dilate my blood and blood vessels.

I was confident using red wine as I remember being given only aspirin at the hospital on the first day, after having taken a 1/3 oz of red wine that remained from our refrigerator on the day of my mild stroke as I unknowingly ran out of supply, plus a mini aspirin given to me by my daughter on my way to the hospital.

By the grace of God, my numbness on my right hand disappeared after around three hours in the hospital and my speech improved from a slight slur the following day.

God is good, all the time.  Until now, with my immune system improved, I stopped using medication as both red wine and Nitric Oxide has worked perfectly well for me without any side effects.

And I take green tea, grape seeds and VCO or virgin coconut oil capsules almost everyday to help lower down my cholesterol and by blood pressure.

Up to now, I am more confident using natural complements as I found out from my researches on the web, related books I read, and on my monthly newsletter subscriptions with Health Science Institute, that the body has an immune system that helps heal itself.

You can just imagine how great and wonderful our Almighty God is.

And with the help of antioxidants, toxic substances from the body are helped out and our immune system gets strengthened.

My faith in God has strengthened my resolve into believing in natural means as a better alternative to healing as these are creations of God just as we are.  Nature heals and blends well with nature the holistic way.

And always be reminded that stress can kill.  Attuning ourselves to God and in His words in Christ can better help us heal as this helps much in enhancing our immune system and in keeping us healthy.  Love in us and for others truly help in ones healing.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 exhorts us in St. Paul, “For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

How God Moves as We Trust in the Lord

God moves in mysterious ways and when you are with God and in Christ Jesus, things just happen in a positive way beyond your expectations.  Just trust in him.

Have it ever occurred to you that whenever you put more weight on material things in your life, the more you find trouble in your relationship with others?  But the more you express your love, forgiveness and understanding for others, the more you find peace in yourself?

And in my experience, the more I have become obedient to him, the more blessings flow my way in a special way, as I feel the warmth in the love of God and of others.  For me, it is just like experiencing heaven were love with humility and obedience makes you one with God.

[Get inspiration from our related post:  "'Love' by Saint Paul, Love of God and Self-Pity"]

Long term unemployment may be introducing you to something better, but only when you surrender everything to God through Christ, will you be able to fully understand how and why everything goes into place, as such with your faithfulness and good works comes God's added blessings in your life with that great feeling of confidence and contentment that only the love of God and in God makes one whole in both body and spirit.

As in Matthew 6:33, Jesus tell his disciples, "... seek first His (God’s) kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

I am for productivity, freedom, liberty, love, peace and justice, but all these comes with a responsibility towards others, to care and to love, while we respect and uphold the rules and regulations in our working place and in the country we serve.

Material things may mean a lot to many people.  But have you noticed and felt how something higher than what we see before our very eyes makes all things move the way they do in this world and in the universe, both physical and spiritual, and that too is revealed by God in the Holy Bible.

In Matthew 4:4, “As it is written: ‘Man cannot live by bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”  And only in seeking God through opening our spirit in us, will we be able to better understand Him as God is spirit.

And for those who have lived a shorter life but have lived their life keeping Jesus in their hearts, may have left their family with a tragic, heartbreaking and untimely loss.

This too poses a challenge on one's faith, as in most instances, some end up blaming our Creator for their loss.

Not until a reality check opens 'thine eyes to the truth will thy find peace,' and that 'all things happen for a reason.'

If it is time to go and God is calling you, it is "God's will be done," less God listens to our plea to extend our life, as we live in a borrowed life.

Only God through His Son, Jesus, has power over life and death.

In Revelation 16:15, St. John wrote of God Almighty’s message to all men, “Behold, I come like a thief! Blessed is he who stays awake and keeps his clothes with him, so that he may not go naked and be shamefully exposed.”

Further reflecting on God's words of wisdom, the family experiencing such loss may find love, humility and submission to God's will as a better option as reality comes as an affirmation of God's greater plan for them.

As long as we are in Christ, for every loss, a greater blessing comes forth as gain.

In the same way that one who has just lost his job may find it best to accept and rejoice in God's plan and continue to pray for guidance as he seeks enlightenment from the Holy Spirit while investing the right time and effort looking for that elusive opportunity either to help pay the bills or be of service to others.

Everything will be in place in God's time and in God's way for one who puts his trust in the Lord.

In 1 Thessalonians 5:6-17, Saint Paul, after he admonished everyone to live in peace with each other, to encourage the timid to help the weak, to be patient with everyone, nobody to pay wrong for wrong and to always be kind to each other and to everyone else, he said, “Be joyful always, pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

And since God in Jesus, His Son, is the "truth, the way and the life," seeing their love one now at peace with God in heaven, they can always rely on him or her as an angel who will always be there for them, guiding and protecting their path to glory with God, so long as they keep their faith burning in Jesus.

"Life is what we make it."  Living this life with God's words of truth in hope, love, peace and justice, and the more appreciate God's blessings while learning to live a simple life is what reality is calling everyone to take.

You may probably have heard somebody telling you, "Don't work too hard."  Which is a sound advice as you would not want  to work more than your limits and pushing yourself to the hilt yet put your health at risk.  Always work smart exercising caution and safety while at work and be on your toes as you think of ways to make your work as efficient as possible being productive at the least possible time that you can help your company grow the business.

In your honest way of contributing to making the company grow its business, it is not only you and the company that is benefited, but other employees in the company as well.

While you keep humble at all times, be on the look out for opportunities that can best use your talent that can help you, your colleagues and your company achieve its assigned goals and objectives all the time.

Remember, nowadays, consider your job as always temporary wherein you can be replaced anytime you show a timid or a non-caring and unprofessional attitude.

Being a team player is a must and being obedient and up to expectations of middle and upper management where no room for mediocrity is allowable should be foremost in your mind.

For a job candidate, a well prepared dude, professionally dressed, has more chances of employment than one who shows lack of interest and enthusiasm while applying.  Preparing ready answers for possible questions before the interview can help you a lot.

In these hard economic times where competition is a lot tougher, it is advised that you be flexible in your salary expectation as almost all companies are on the upper hand looking for well fit and more qualified candidates at the least cost.

For internet work-from-home businesses, it is best to shun away from them especially if you do not have the interest and computer know-how in starting one.  It may just be a waste of your time and of your hard earned money less you agree to spend time working diligently as there are some entities that offer training for three to six months with an assured income after the course, a few with "money back guarantee."

Otherwise, a good backup education with a reasonable priced formal course for six months or so may be a better choice than a vague promise of easy steps to make you rich schemes.  If anybody promises to make you rich quick, and it sound too good to be true, better step back before you get trapped.

There are short dental and medical assistant courses, care-giver courses, office assistant and book keeping courses and the like that you can take offered at reasonable prices.

If you are aggressive and adventurous enough, you can go warehouse and office-to-office hopping for certain job vacancies including utility or energy meter readings even though seasonal, can be a good way to start your way through the organization.

The need may be so urgent that you sometimes find yourself fortunate enough to be accepted just as long as you are willing to start at a low salary rate.  Once you are in, it is easier to blend into your next target job in the business.

Selling Products You are Confident Selling or Marketing

If you have marketing and selling skills with customer service charisma, choosing the right products you are confident in selling can help.  Products can vary from insurance to stock market shares, from health, slimming and wellness products to knives and kitchen wares or from credit cards and advertising food service outlets to cable network and telephone or mobile phone services.

Number one requirement for you to succeed in this is your interest, enthusiasm and perseverance to win or close a sale.

Product knowledge, integrity and charisma which includes building relationships are also key factors in being successful as a sales and marketing personnel aside from planning with  right prospecting, organization and making a viable referrals list, and time management for a more serious and professional approach to efficiency that will earn you the awe and credibility you rightly deserve as this too reflects to your clients, and this can help much getting that elusive desire for your products triggering the needed kill for your closing.

All these should add up to efficiency in your presentation and closing.

Patience and Perseverance

If after all best efforts have been exhausted in looking for a job fails, persevere and never stop looking.

Anyone who perseveres in the Lord in both good efforts and in prayer will find his way through and soon, you will find the right income earning activity that can best suit you, in God's will and in God's time.

Do not be discouraged if you fail, and always hope in prayer as you smile your way through your troubles and perseverance as you also smartly walk your way through.

With your unrelenting faith and a healthy and joyful disposition, you will find what is best for you in due time.

Do not ever put to waste the great opportunities presented to you in this life by seeking easy money or short pleasures the easy yet the evil way.

You can never hide anything from God.  Every evil thing you do, you have to repay (read Romans 12:19), as God assures of this..

Everything that is not of God, forget it for it will just cause you trouble.  You do not have to take my word for it, just look around you and see.

You may get away with it for some time, but you do not realize how things can go worse later on or go awry and chaotic in your life that even your family and love ones may suffer.

If it is hell you ask for, it is hell you will get.

But if it is heavenly happiness and true peace,  keep God in Christ, at the center of your life.

Networking with your friends in religious or non-profit organizations can also help, as they know you best and can make great referrals for you among their community of friends.

Precisely why it is always necessary to build a good name for yourself where you may belong.

Doing volunteer work in social services can likewise give you good future source of referrals.

If you have experienced gain from loss in your life, feel free to share your comment that others too may see the opportunity to work as a productive member of the community as you find joy and happiness living with the light in Christ.

In John 14:6 Jesus said to His apostles, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”. Further in John 3:16, Jesus said, “For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Watch this Inspiring Happy Father's Day Video from Special Day E-cards

"Happy Father's Day" to all the great fathers in the world!

Come on, Big Daddy, it's your Big Day, you deserve to be happy.

You may have felt down, disappointed, depressed, left out, frustrated, misunderstood, sad and lonely sometimes, hope not henpecked though, lol, but is this not about the realities of life?

And if you feel happy about life then let's go enjoy with our love ones.

"Life is what we make it," ain't this so?  Or is this really far from the truth?

Don't worry too much if you feel down sometimes, you're not alone ... but ... do you really think drooping down, sulking, blaming or bothering yourself about your problem is the answer?

Hey brother, Jesus in me loves you and our loving God the Father, the Biggest Daddy of them all wants to show you how He loves you too and in Jesus, His Son, Our Savior and Redeemer, you are saved, just have faith and trust in him.

If you already believe in this, then you know how beautiful life truly is just counting our blessings while we follow Christ Jesus with our love ones.

With his love and in his love we are made whole and complete.

And sharing the love for each other in the family makes as healthy too, that's right, away from illness, as our immune system is more enhanced with harmony in ourselves and with those around us.  Many scientific researches have attested to this including that of Dr. Louis Ignarro, famed author of the best selling book "NO More Heart Disease," and the 1998 recipient of the Nobel Prize for Medicine.

As in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17, "Be joyful always; Pray continually; and give thanks in all circumstances for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

Watch this inspiring video as a Happy Father's Day greeting for you from Special Day e-cards.

Think about our Big Daddy in God through Jesus keeping us in his flock and within track.

Don't you think you always wish you were like Big Daddy too guiding your spouse and children the way Jesus has shown his unconditional love for us, ever understanding, ever forgiving and merciful, ever assertive in his ways while teaching us the truth and power in his words that we may learn love of neighbors and receive his grace with theological virtues of love and charity, faith and hope, as well as the 4 cardinal virtues, of patience, courage and fortitude, restraint or temperance, truth/integrity and justice?

Christianity begins at home and in 1 Timothy 3:1-5, St. Paul defines the overseer as the "husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect.”

And before you became a daddy, let's go back bit and be reminded of the days when you used to court mommy, and of course, during your memorable wedding day, when you used to be a true gentleman dressed to the hilt whispering sweet nothings to your 'inamorata'?

Now that you are a daddy, don't you think your kids, not only your spouse, also want to see you as sweet as chocolate candy or strawberry shortcake with each other?

Watch this fun video on funniest stuff from our link while you reminisce those beautiful days of the past on "The Coolest Wedding Dance on Funniest Stuff."

And to further strengthen that bond together and keep your family as one with Christ, here is a related blog post about 'Love' and its true meaning in Christ by Saint Paul on "'Love' and Saint Paul, Love of God and Self-Pity."

I wish you all the happiness and joys of a good father in Jesus as we KJOH (Keeping Jesus in our hearts).  Godspeed.

Manny Pacquiao Fights Bringing Pinoy and Mexicans Together, Zyrene Parsad and Cowboy Blondes Sing National Anthems

Fights of Manny Pacquiao seem to have attracted Filipinos and Mexicans together.

The Manny Pacquiao vs. Antonio Margarito Fight in November 13, 2010 at the Dallas Cowboy Stadium was no exception.  I call it  "The David vs. Goliath Main Event" with the bigger and heavier boxer in Margarito coming out as the underdog even before the fight started.

It was not surprising that many Mexicans who were watching with us at the Habana residence at Kingsley Road, Los Angeles, California, where booting for a Manny Pacqiuao win as you watch on the YouTube video below using the YouTube video editor, with footages I have recorded from the HBO fight on cable TV also showing the pretty lass and popular singer in the Philippines, Zyrene Parsad singing the national anthem and the lovely blondes trio of Dallas Cowboys cheering team.

Above interesting video can always be a prelude to any exciting fight for "Pacman," or Manny Pacquiao, boxing's record holder as Pound for Pound King.

It was a Mexican in Margarito who lost in the fight watched on cable but it was also a Mexican from the friendly and jolly audience who brought home the bacon as the fight ended up with a full 12 rounds lopsided win by the Pound for Pound Boxing King which saw a badly beaten Margarito later on landing in a hospital with a damaged retina and an fractured orbital bone.

Manny was waiting for the referee to stop the fight going on in the 10th round as there was no way Margarito would have a chance of finishing even with a lucky punch as he was utterly weak and spent.  Was it worth it for Margarito?

He did last the 12 full rounds alright but with a price that could cost him his career for a lifetime.  Lately, though, I read that he was ready to go back to the ring.  Uhhm, well, I hope he knows what he is doing.

Many Filipinos and Mexicans both enjoy the sports of boxing and many of their compatriots have made successful landmarks in the history of boxing.

But what is so special about Manny Pacquiao that Filipinos, Mexicans and many people around the world are magnetized by his charisma, that is on top of his punching power and agility?

I feel it is in the humility of the person that makes a man greater an himself.

In Matthew 23:11-12, Jesus Christ said to the crowd with his disciples, "The greatest among you will be your servant. For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted."

Now, Manny is also a public servant as a newly elected Congressman in the Philippines, representing Sarangani Province in the Island of Mindanao.  And I just hope and pray that he becomes a trues servant of his people and a role model as an honest, hard working and a nationalistic politician, not to be tainted by the old "tradpols" (traditional politicians).

It is in this premise, I believe, that he became popular with many people voting for him in Sarangani.

The lure of material things in the world is so powerful that without a very strong faith in God Almighty, one is doomed to fail as Jesus Christ has said in Matthew 6:24 that we cannot serve two masters at the same time. We choose only one … either God or Mammon (money or lust). If we opt to be ruled by material things, power, money or lust, which the evil one prefers, can we ever attain satisfaction and peace in our life?

We have seen many great sportsmen, politicians, celebrities and even pastors and priests fall from grace.  And many have never recovered as they remained enslaved by their pride.

May all men learn from the mistakes of these misguided souls as their body succumbed to sins of the flesh and/or wealth, and to sins of selfishness and pride.

But still, we have a forgiving God.  May the love and truth in Jesus bring light to these men who went astray for with faith in Jesus, there is hope and forgiveness in the renewal of life in one's spirit.

In Romans 6:19-23, Saint Paul admonished the former slaves among Romans now set free, “I put this in human terms because you are weak in your natural selves. Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to ever increasing wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness. When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

One blessed with a good family, a faithful and God fearing wife and children, what benefits him to do evil and become enslaved to sin, and find himself losing everything later on, family, properties, and worse, including his soul as he forfeits life eternal in exchange for a short and temporary period of happiness?

I firmly believe "putting God first in your life and in your decisions makes one great in God's eyes," with peace and true happiness that follows, as many good people can attest to, and who can ever beat that?

In Proverbs 37:4, “Delight yourself with the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

For Manny, I pray that he continues to be humble and steadfast in his faith in God, through Christ our Lord and Savior, and with good works, I can see him blessed.

And one who stays humble, poor in spirit, upright and righteous, is great in God's eyes, and "he will inherit the earth," and his "is the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 5:3-5).

Birthday Fun with Snakes and Other Animals - with God in Us and Easter

(Left photo showing the cheerful Dalton twins at 4 with elder brother, Lyndon, 5)

"Eeeekkks" and shrills can be heard from the thrilled audience of parents and children who attended the birthday party of the adorable Dalton twins, Sharon and Kirsten at their own home in Colleyville, Texas.

It was a live show of pretty tamed and should I say, well mannered snakes, spiders, toads and reptiles which included an iguana and colorful lizards.

All were attentively and delightfully educated with each of the animals' features and characteristics distinctly presented by the show master from Party Pop (Contact number at 214-563-2234), with some catching a closer view if not even touching and handling the stars of the show just to get the feel of these creepy and interesting creatures.

And yes, even small kids excitedly had the feel of the slimy snakes as they bravely took turns carrying two or three snakes at a time on their shoulders.

Lyndon hesitated for a moment until he saw others doing it and there he went for the snakes.

Watch our fun video link above on YouTube "Birthday Fun with Snakes and Other Animals," and our picasa link below to still pictures and to our gallery.
Snakes and other animals birthday fun

It takes a lot of courage to overcome ones fear as it takes a "single step" to start "a journey of a thousand miles," according to the ancient Chinese philosopher, Lao Tzu.

Snakes can be intimidating but they can be friendly too as many feast on pests and rodents to help maintain the balance of nature.

Watch another fun video link on YouTube, "Animal Fair and Kids Birthday Fun with Snakes and Others."

And for our kids, there is no substitute to educating them as early as when they are still in the mother's womb, yes, upon conception, to make them strong in their faith as they grow up, away from corruption from this material world, yet, while being competitive as they make good use of their talents to share these with others in the course of being productive members of society, oozing with confidence and never relenting against evil and its many disguises, and learning to thank and praise God for all the wonderful things and blessings in this life guided by love and humility in Jesus.

GOD IN US AND EASTER

While the evil one has often been depicted in the Holy Bible as a snake or a serpent, our Creator has made man the ruler of all His creation, hence, for man not to fear creation but to make good use to glorify God's Holy Name.

With the many wonders of nature in our planet and the perfect harmony around the universe, we take for granted the many miracles that happen around us in prayer, it is but the evil one whom we see rejoicing of our vanity, selfishness, hardheadedness and pride, and refuse to see God from within our spirit as God is spirit.

In John 4:24, Jesus explained to an unbeliever, a Samaritan woman, "God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."

Sadly, many of us remain blind as we refuse to see the light and the truth in God's love even from the many miracles recorded and attributed to His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who sacrificed and died for us on the cross to pay for our sins that we may have everlasting life as made further evident by his glorious resurrection and ascension, which is the very essence of Easter celebration.

So with the many saints and Mama Mary, the mother of Christ, who have shown us miracles through the love of Jesus.

In Proverbs 1:7, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Knowledge (or Wisdom)."

[Read on our related post on "God's Awesome Works in God's Awesome Creation."]

Whence, with God and through Christ, trusting in him, we shall not fear of anything evil as Christ, being One with the Father, has dominion over all things, seen and unseen.

“I and the father are one”. In John 14: 11-14 Jesus added, “Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me… I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”

Commentary on - "British Royal Wedding Blogs" - Yahoo! Shine

Watch the many videos, 243 in all and counting, on our above link with Yahoo News as we see the Royal Wedding of Prince Williams and Kate Middleton brings back the memory of Princess Diana. Her beauty, her charm, her humility, her willingness to share with the downtrodden shows her kind heart altogether in this newly wedded gorgeous couple's magnificent true-to-life fantasy laden wedding.

Listen to the beautiful introduction of the Bishop of London Richard Chartres citing the Wedding feast of Cana, the fitting reading of the bride's brother, James Middleton, the angelic voices of the choir, the priest's inspiring sermon, their very own prayer which these lovely celebrants composed hoping to guide them in their married life, all these reflecting life's beauty with Christ and in Christ, with the thousands of well wishers that greeted them, and over 2 billion people worldwide that watched this wonderful and momentous event, the colorful festivity and pageantry and many more.

In John 6:26-27, Jesus said to his apostles who showed lack of faith and enthusiasm despite the many miracles they have seen including seeing him walk on the sea and calm the rough waters, “I tell you the truth, you are looking for me, not because you saw miraculous signs but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.”

All married couples can always derive inspiration from this great wedding as they reminisce the time when they said their marriage vows especially so in church in the sacrament of matrimony.  How sweet were those days.

And how sweet can it still remain if we only have Christ's love in us, with humility, understanding, mercy and forgiveness that keeps that sacred bond together and make it last forever, as God has everlasting love for all those who live in his grace, ever faithful, ever believing, and ever witnessing  in his love, care and mercy.

May Prince William and his new Princess Catherine, while keeping the memory of Princess Diana, be truly inspired as they keep Jesus in their hearts with the many trials and challenges that they will soon expect in their life, and may God bless them to bring about a happy and loving family in Christ.

Commentary on - Bedbug Infestation and Video on How to Know if You Have Bedbugs

Read on our AOL link post on "Bedbug Infestation:  A Bedbug Victim Goes to a Bedbug Convention" and watch the video that gives you an educational tour on how to know if you have bedbugs.

This stuff is pretty informative and you can learn much on how to look for bedbugs in your own place and how to get rid of them or at least minimize their predatory, irritating and disgusting presence.

Pinoy Blogger (PB) just wonders how come the writer on above link preferred take a dead bedbug home?  Was he thinking of doing a recipe for it, certainly hope not?  Now see what happened, he kiddingly says it now resides in his freezer.

Bedbugs may not be a source of disease but, like cockroaches, they can be "difficult to contain and expensive to exterminate,"  according the video hostess.

PB is reminded a past experience with an insect bite while asleep on his lips causing it to swell.  If that was a female bedbug, it sure was fast stealing a kiss, sadly, a kiss that really hurt.

When he told his wife about it, she immediately got nervous and started looking desperately after the culprit.

Commentary on - inheriting-a-fortune-heirs-to-billionaries: Personal Finance News from Yahoo! Finance

inheriting-a-fortune-heirs-to-billionaries: Personal Finance News from Yahoo! Finance

Many times we find ourselves aspire for greatness, wealth and grandeur.

But may we not forget who made all these possible as creations of God.

May we not become a slave of things that are material, rather, use these to glorify God from whom all good things come.

Jesus also reminds us in Matthew 19:23, as he tells his apostles, “I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

In Matthew 16:25-26, he tells his disciples, “For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it. What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul?”

Further in Matthew 19:26, Jesus assured his apostles, “With God, all things are possible.”

Yes, only with God that all things will be possible... even eternal life.  Let's KJOH.
